The original monastery here was rebuilt and today there are over 200 monks who stay here permanently. The main annual rites take place on the 28th and 29th days of the 10th Month of the Lunar Calendar when the famous Masked Lama Dance is performed.

Tashiding
Perched scenically on a conical hill, high above the confluence of the Rangeet and Rathong Chhu's, is an important pilgrimage center, for a mere glimpse of the Chorten there is said to cleanse one of all earthly sins. The annual Bhum Chhu ceremony is performed here when a large number of devotees congregate.
